Forres Golf Club’s five-day open reaches final day of play with holder Mo Lindsay making it to last four and schoolboy Charlie Allan impressing in handicap section





The reigning champ is in the reckoning yet again.

Forres Golf Club’s five-day open reaches its conclusion today with morning semi-finals and the finals in the afternoon.

Holder of the scratch competition, two-time winner Mo Lindsay (Grange and Broughty) has battled through to the last four.

Lindsay beat Calum Stuart 4&3, Simon Bremner 3&1 and Ivor MacKenzie 2&1 to get to today’s final day and is in action against home hopeful Ross Proctor.

Another Forres player Mark Jones faces Moray’s Richard McPherson, who was defeated by eventual winner Ryan Bain in last week’s Elgin five-day.

in the Fraser Cup handicap, schoolboy Charlie Allan has produced a great run to the semi-finals.

The youngster defeated more experiences opponents Corey Black, Scott Watt and Albert Duffus to earn a last four clash with Glenn McGough.

Robert Thorburn (Forres) and Chrispope Abhiteachapan (St. Andrews) meet in the other tie.

in the Capri tray semi-finals it’s Andy Robertson (Forres) against Rob Christie (Corhampton GC), and an all-Forres clash between John Duguid and James Thomson.

Robertson and Duguid looked on course to meet in the final after building up good leads this morning.
