Restrictions on non-contact group sport for teenagers aged 12-17 set to be lifted next month

Restrictions on non-contact sports for 12-to-17-year-olds are scheduled to be lifted on Monday, March 15.

But restrictions to contact and senior sport, or fans being allowed back into grounds or stadiums, are not likely to be lifted until Monday, April 26.

The Scottish Government announced today plans for its route out of lockdown, with it scheduling a return to the geographical level system in the final week of April.

Before the second lockdown in January, Highland and Moray was in a Level One area which permitted up to 300 fans into arenas and stadiums to watch sport and for contact sport to be played.

But Moray will remain as part of the national lockdown for another two months.

As elite sport, The Scottish FA has the power to restart lower league football, which includes League One, League Two, Highland League, north junior and women's football.

The SFA is due to hold a review into lower league football on Monday, March 1.
