The release of the full fixtures list for the shortened season had been delayed while the Scottish FA finalised plans for next season's Scottish Cup competition, and how many Highland League clubs would be involved.

But league secretary Rod Houston said he would issue at least the first batch of fixtures no later than four weeks ahead of the planned October 17 kick-off.

That date is now a month away and clubs are ready to learn who their opening matches are against, subject to Scottish Government clearance for the scheduled start to take place.

"What I did say to the clubs is that I will give them four weeks notice - at the shortest - of at least the early season fixtures if the Scottish FA still have to work something out with regards to the Scottish Cup," Houston said.

"Traditionally we would clear two Saturdays for the Scottish Cup so we need to know if they are needed, and when, before we can finalise the detail of the fixture calendar."

Assuming the Highland League does get under way, the 17 clubs will meet each other just once over the season.

That will mean eight home and eight away matches, while each club will make the journey to Fort William or Wick Academy, but not both.
