Ross County announce positive Covid-19 tests and suspend football activities ahead of Premier Sports Cup opener at Forfar Athletic

Ross County have suspended football operations after a number of players and coaches tested positive for Covid-19.

The move comes as a precaution, with the Staggies try to prevent further spread of the virus.

County had been in action for the first time since the end of last season away at Elgin City last Saturday, but this announcement throws the status of their Premier Sports Cup group campaign into doubt.

Malky Mackay's men had been due to play their first game this Saturday away at Forfar Athletic.
