ALL three local sides picked up victories on the opening night of the Forres and Nairn Welfare League on Friday.
Carisbrooke were convincing 5-0 victors against 10-man Elgin Caledonian, Kinloss Sappers won 2-0 against Elgin Albion, and Mosset Tavern completed the Forres area treble over Elgin sides with a sensational 5-4 come-from-behind win over Caberfeidh.
Mosset picked up all three points at Roysvale, despite having trailed Caberfeidh 3-0 at half-time.
They also scored their last two goals with 10 men after Fraser Thom, who scored a double, was shown a straight red card.
The comeback started in bizarre fashion when Andrew Lloyd knocked Caberfeidh’s crossbar down while heading in at the back post.
Fraser Thom’s double – including a penalty – levelled the scores before Jamie Lees restored Caberfeidh’s advantage.
A brilliant brace from Jordan Robertson gave Mosset a dramatic opening day win.
