FORRES Thistle are chasing down the leaders in McBookie.com North Region Division 2 after a fine win in Aberdeen.
Jags took on Glentanar with new signing Fraser Forbes in their ranks in what was to turn out to be an impressive debut.
The home goalkeeper saved from Mattie Davidson and Forbes while Scott Campbell headed just wide and Neil Moir was denied by a goal-line clearance.
Glentanar were reduced to ten men before half time, as they protested when the referee didn't stop play for a head knock and Chris Fairley was red-carded for dissent.
Forres went in front on 40 minutes when a Moir cross was missed by Forbes but put into his own net by Luke Fawcett.
Danny Black then struck a post as Jags chased a second goal on the stroke of half time.
The Glentanar manager was also shown a red card for comments made during the interval.
Jags increased their lead eight minutes after the restart when Charlie Beck converted a cross by Ross Paterson following a run down the left.
Then a corner by Forres sub Matty Fraser was dummied by Davidson for Forbes to score a debut goal from six yards.
Forres face a derby match with Burghead Thistle in their next game on Saturday.
