Moray derby in North of Scotland Cup as Forres Mechanics draw Rothes

The North of Scotland Cup draw has set up a Moray derby clash, the second early season meeting between the clubs.

Forres Mechanics and Rothes will meet in the first round of the competition on Wednesday, August 21.

The teams also contest a Highland League fixture on the opening day of the season on Saturday, July 27.

The winners of the cup clash will host the winners of Lossiemouth’s trip to former Highland League side Fort William.

A number of North Caledonian League sides have entered this year’s competition.

First round (August 21):

Brora Rangers v Ross County
Clachnacuddin v Strathspey Thistle
Forres Mechanics v Rothes
Fort William v Lossiemouth
Golspie Sutherland v Inverness Athletic
Halkirk United v St Duthus
Invergordon v Wick Academy
Nairn County v Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Quarter-finals (September 18):

Brora or Ross County v Invergordon or Wick
Golspie or Inverness Athletic v Halkirk or St Duthus
Forres or Rothes v Fort William or Lossiemouth
Nairn or Inverness CT v Clach or Strathspey
