FORRES Mechanics have been handed a "massive boost" ahead of the 2022-23 campaign with twins Lee and Graham Fraser signing new contracts.

The 28-year-olds have put pen to paper on two-year extensions with the club, keeping them at Mosset Park until 2024.

Centre-back Graham and striker Lee originally signed with Mechanics back in 2010 and will have their testimonial match against Elgin City at home on July 1.

Can-Cans manager Steven MacDonald has previously talked about the importance of getting the twins signed up to new deals.

The hope is that them signing will encourage others to do similar as Forres look to improve on a 12th place finish this campaign.

MacDonald called the move a "massive boost" as the Cans warded off competition to keep the duo.

He said: “I'm absolutely delighted with Graham and Lee signing extensions.

"It shows their loyalty and commitment to this club as we continue to try to progress and strengthen.

"This is a massive boost for the club as there were other clubs trying to entice them away from Mosset Park, where they are huge influences both on and off the pitch.

"This is a great example of our club showing ambition by re-signing valuable players in important positions.

"Hopefully we can add new additions to further improve the squad in the near future too."
