A group of 38 played in a team Best-Ball Stableford event – and, on one hole only, at the teams’ discretion, all three players were to count.

With conditions resem-bling summer rather than an early spring day, most of the teams managed to score well. In a close finish, David Webster’s team were beaten by only one point by Ted Lamsdell’s combine, the penultimate team out on the course.

Hopefully, the weather is a portent of things to come!

Results, 1 Ted Lamsdell (11), Dave McMurdo (11), Willie Watson (18) and Ian McIntosh (19) – 56pt. 2 David Webster (11), Robin Walker (16) and John MacRae (24) – 55. 3 Mike Holder (12), Stewart Taylor (17) and Willie Ralph (20) – 52.
