Lossiemouth United see nine-match north junior championship run ended by Banchory St Ternan, New Elgin score five and Dufftown make it back-to-back wins
Lossiemouth United’s nine-game undefeated league run was ended by a 1-0 loss to Championship leaders Banchory St Ternan.
United still have two games in hand over their conquerors in second place and are five points behind.
Dufftown made it back-to-back league wins near the bottom with a 2-0 success over Westdyke, Kris Duncan scoring both.
Three first half goals earned Burghead Thistle a derby win at neighbours Forres Thistle.
Toby Clark put an early Forres chance just wide before a tackle on Burghead’s Jamie Davidson by home defender Jack Dawson was adjudged to be a foul, and Davidson slotted home the penalty.
Craig Robertson fired over from seven yards for Forres and Burghead were proving to be more clinical, with Kelvin Mackenzie making it 2-0 with a free kick from the edge of the box.
An unmarked Cal White header from a corner extended Broch’s lead right on half time, and the visitors had the better chances in a scoreless second half as it finished 3-0 to Burghead.
New Elgin pulled off another superb win, 5-0 at home to Cruden Bay. Kayden Davies netted twice and Kieron Cameron, Thomas Bremner and Kasper Kwolik completed the home scoring.
In the Premier Division, Islavale lost 3-0 to league leaders Bridge of Don Thistle.
Deveronside won 5-2 away to Glentanar in the Championship. Owen Christie and Chris Blackhall netted two goals apiece with Kieran Neish also on target.
Whitehills were beaten 6-0 at Stoneywood Parkvale.
