FORRES Golf Club's ladies and Mens Sections held opening matches to mark the official start of the new season.

Ladies celebrate the official start of the season at Forres Golf Club

A field of 76 enjoyed excellent sunny conditions for the annual men's captain versus vice captain's opening match.

Club Captain Albert Duffus drove off in style to officially laun ch the golfing season. Partnered by Club Professional Sandy Aird, he led his team against Vice Captain Doug McAllister partnered by Club Champion Jeff WRight.

All games started simultaneously with a traditional "Shot Gun" start ina good natured by fiercely competitive match.

The course looked magnificent in the spring sunshine and all competitors were treated to perfect golfing conditions whcih resulted in many matches finishing closely.

the result of the match was a win for the Captain's team by 11 points to 8.

The ladies match resulted in a draw between the Captain and Vice Captain's teams.
