Highland League round-up: Forres Mechanics stun Huntly with comeback while Buckie Thistle purple patch sees off Rothes and Deveronvale take derby honours at Turriff United

Forres Mechanics produced the comeback of the Highland League midweek programme to land their fourth win of the season.

The Cans looked dead and buried when they trailed hosts Huntly 3-1 midway through the second half.

But a late revival spun the contest around and Forres ended up 4-3 winners.

On-form Huntly striker Angus Grant scored twice in the opening half hour before Kyle MacLeod pulled one back before the break.

Fin Allen celebrated his loan move from Elgin City to Huntly by scoring a third for the home team just after half time.

Captain Mark McLauchlan gave Mechanics some hope on 69 minutes and Calum Frame, who only came on as sub after an hour, netted twice on 77 and 84 minutes to win it for Cans.

There was a Moray derby at Mackessack Park where Buckie Thistle moved up to sixth with a 3-0 success over Rothes.

All the goals came in a six minute spell around the hour with Marcus Goodall, Innes McKay - with his first goal for Jags - and Darryl McHardy on target.

Keith had defender Ryan Spink sent off at Nairn County before an own goal and a Ben Barron strike handed the home side a 2-0 victory.

Lossiemouth made it back-to-back 4-0 defeats at Inverurie Locos as goals by Aidan Wilson, Nathan Meres, Paul Coutts (pen) and Callum Duncan steered the Harlaw Park men to the three points, consolidating third place.

Brechin City won the top-of-the-table battle, coming from behind for a 3-1 success at Banks o’ Dee.

Andy Hunter netted early on for Dee but Fraser MacLeod’s double either side of half time put Brechin ahead and Ewan Loudon sealed it.
