FORRES Thistle got back to winning ways on Saturday with a comprehensive 6-1 league success against Whitehills.

After a 1-1 draw with Glentanar in the league and 2-1 cup loss to Buchanhaven Hearts, the Jags were after a win.

And they got off to perfect start as Charlie Beck’s corner was nodded in by Matthew Milne from five yards on 12 minutes.

Before 20 minutes it was 2-0 as Matthew Davidson poked home the first of what would be a first half hat-trick from close range.

Davidson knocked in his second from equally as close range on 42 minutes, before converting his third from eight yards just a minute later.

A near post header from Calum Risk gave Whitehills a consolation on 75 minutes.

The Jags travel to Burghead Thistle on Saturday looking to make it back-to-back league victories.
