Forres gymnasts successful at Garioch Glitterball competition in Inverurie

A TRIO of Forres gymnasts have returned victorious from a competition in Inverurie.

Lucy Stephenson, Mya Morrison and Louisa Walters were delighted to be presented with glitterball tiaras - handed out to overall winners at the Garioch Glitterball competition.

Mya and Louisa were joined by Matilda Gee to win team gold, with the trio unbeatable in the last three competitions they have entered.

Lucy Stephenson picked up a silver medal on floor and a bronze overall in the 12+ years category.

Mya Morrison won silver on floor and overall in the 12/13 years age group. In the same category, Louisa Walters won bronze on floor, gold on vault and gold overall.

In the 10-year-old category, Harper Derrick won silver on vault. Beth Watson won bronze on vault and collected a fifth place ribbon in the seven-year-old category.

The competition was the final one for Forres Gymnastics Club before the summer break.

Action at the club will resume in August, when there will be trials for new members in primary one.
