Forres Mechanics on hunt for first team coach to assist manager Steven MacDonald’s efforts to continue progress at Highland League club

Forres Mechanics are on the look out for a first team coach to help manager Steven MacDonald’s plans for progression at the Mosset Park club.

MacDonald currently works with assistant Mark Holmes and first team coach David MacKay, but wants to add to his backroom staff in time for the next Highland League campaign.

Mechanics also discovered who they will play in their opening fixtures of next term, and who they will face in the opening cup draw.

The club has advertised the post of first team coach on their social media channels, with the new man set to work with some of the Cans’ summer recruits.

MacDonald has recruited well over the summer so far, bringing in experienced former Wick Academy goalkeeper Sean McCarthy from Roithes as his first capture.

Next to come in the door was a former Highland League winner in defender Cohen Ramsay, who claimed the title with former club Buckie Thistle two years ago.

Winger Lewis MacKenzie also arrived on a three-year deal from Clach, who loaned the player out to Forres last term before agreeing a permanent switch.

Mechanics will be at home to Huntly in their league opener on July 26, before visiting champions Brora Rangers four days later.

They have drawn Wick Academy at home in the League Cup preliminary round on September 13, with the winners at home to Brora or Strathspey on November 8.
