North Region junior football set to return from winter break and two Saturday weather wipe-outs
North junior football will resume this weekend after more than a month out of action.
League officials made the call to cancel the entire Saturday programme two days early on each of the past two weekends, due to bad weather and forecasts.
So there’s been no football in the two divisions since December 14, as there was a winter shutdown for a fortnight.
Higher temperatures this week should see a full compliment of fixtures going ahead.
Championship leaders Lossiemouth United are keen to keep their title quest on track with a home match against Glentanar.
United are working on their Phoenix Park pitch, which currently is holding some surface water and hope to have it playable for the clash against the Aberdonians.
Forres Thistle play host to Dufftown in a Moray derby match while New Elgin play host to Deveronside.
Burghead Thistle are on home soil against Stoneywood Parkvale while in the John Reilly Memorial Cup, Islavale make the second round trip to Aberdeen to face Hall Russell United.
