Highland League champions Buckie Thistle stun leaders Brora Rangers and Brechin City go joint-top after stoppage time winner.
Buckie Thistle threw a spanner in the Highland League title chase with a notable Victoria Park victory.
The champions may be a long way off retaining their crown but they can have a say in who succeeds them as league winners and proved it with a superb 3-2 win over leaders Brora Rangers.
The result, paired with Brechin City’s dramatic stoppage time success over Turriff United means that Brora and Brechin are now tied at the top on points with seven games to go.
Brora got off to a great start with Colin Williamson’s early opener but found themselves behind at th break as Fin Allen and Josh Peters both netted.
Peters continued a superb week which saw him score four goals in midweek, making it six in two games with Buckie’s third on 52 minutes.
Matty Wright pulled one back for Brora right at the end but Jags held on for the three points.
Fraser MacLeod was Brechin’s hero with a winner in the third minute of time added on in their 1-0 win over Turriff, and now the Tayside club trail Brora only on goal difference.
Banks o’ Dee needed a last minute Jevan Anderson goal to earn a 2-1 win over second-bottom Strathspey Thistle.
Dee led through Andy Hunter’s early goal and missed a penalty before Conor Macphee levelled for Strathspey late in the game.
Strathspey still remain ahead of bottom team Rothes on goal difference, and that margin was widened by the Speysiders’ 7-0 defeat at Clach - their 12th loss in a row.
Troy Cooper scored a hat-trick, James Anderson got two and Craig Lawrie and Gavin Morrison had one apiece in the Inverness side’s big win.
Forres Mechanics staved off a Deveronvale comeback to win 4-2 in Banff.
Matty Jamieson and Jordan Alonge had Forres 2-0 up at the break before Olek Dlugosz and Murray Esson drew Vale level in the first ten minutes of the second half.
But Kyle MacLeod restored Cans’ lead within a minute of the home equaliser and Alonge’s second from the penalty spot sealed victory for the away team.
