BRORA Rangers have stretched their lead at the top of the Breedon Highland League to 13 points.
The Cattachs were 4-1 winners at home to Wick Academy.
Rothes remain in third after a 2-0 win against Formartine Utd.
Meanwhile, Buckie Thistle moved up to fourth place thanks to a 4-2 home win against Huntly.
Forres Mechanics moved into seventh place with a 3-1 win at Deveronvale.
Two goals in the space of a minute in the first half put the Mechanics in charge with Owen Paterson sweeping home the opener after 20 minutes.
Lee Fraser powered in a header 60 seconds later to extend the lead from an Alan MacPhee cross.
MacPhee blasted in a third before the break to put Forres firmly in command.
The visitors didn't exert the same level of dominance after the break, although Martin Groat, making his return after eight weeks out with broken ribs, hit the bar early in the second half.
Greg Buchan pulled one back for 'Vale with a terrific shot from outside the box with 20 minutes remaining but Forres were never under any real pressure.
Mechanics boss Charlie Rowley said: "Overall there is no question the better team on the day won the game.
"It was a decent enough performance and we scored three cracking goals."
Midfielder Groat added: "I felt all right for my first game back in a while, although I was blowing a bit in the second half.
"We were pretty solid and took our chances. My legs were starting to go a wee bit."
'Vale manager Steve Dolan said: "I don't think there was much in the game and then we lost two goals in a minute. The third goal finishes the game before half-time."
