Moray Christmas – When to put your bins out this festive season
Moray Council has published its revised schedule for bin collections over the Christmas period.
Green, blue and pink bins will not be picked up on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day or January 2.
Here are the alternative days if your three-weekly collection would ordinarily fall on Wednesday, December 25:
Elgin, Dyke, Brodie (now - Monday, December 23)
Kingston, Lossiemouth (now Tuesday, December 24)
Keith (now Friday, December 27)
Here are the alternative days if your three-weekly collection would ordinarily fall on Thursday, December 26:
Fochabers (now - Friday December 27)
Elgin, Keith Rafford, Dallas (now - Saturday, December 28)
Here are the alternative days if your three-weekly collection would ordinarily fall on Wednesday, January 1:
Lossiemouth (now Monday, December 30)
Spey Bay (now Friday, January 3)
Elgin, Grange (now Tuesday, January 31)
Forres (now Saturday, January 4)
Here are the alternative days if your three-weekly collection would ordinarily fall on Thursday, January 2:
Forres (now Monday, December 30)
Craigellachie, Rothes (now Friday, January 3)
Elgin, Deskford, Lintmill (now Saturday, January 4)
A council spokesperson said: “Collections may be carried out earlier than normal, so please have all bins at their usual collection point by 7.30am.
“If there's any disruption to these collections, we'll post this on our service portal and set out when we'll return.”
In addition, the council states there will be no brown bin collections for a fortnight from Monday, December 23, until they restart again on Monday, January 6.
Real Christmas trees can be put out alongside your brown bin from that date and will be uplifted without the need for a garden waste permit.
