Findhorn Bay Festival to feature Window Wanderland community displays

It’ll be a beautiful sight, we’ll be happy those nights, walking in a window wanderland!
The community is being invited to help make Forres even more of a magical visitor attraction, in partnership with Forres Area Business Association, during the fifth Findhorn Bay Festival next month.

Festival director, Kresanna Aigner, confirmed, following on from a successful ‘Window Wanderland’ event in 2021, Forres town centre will once again be awash with light, colour and creativity.

She said: “Everyone can take part by transforming their homes, businesses, schools and streets into outdoor galleries!

“We invite households, community groups and families to create window-based art inspired by the festival’s themes of nature and the natural world, connection and belonging.

“It can be simple or spectacular - anything goes, as long as it’s family-friendly.”

Participants are asked to consider what belonging means; whether it’s being part of a group, family, or the places they feel a connection. This could be as simple as being part of the local community or the nature that inspires - a plant or garden, the Moray coast or any aspect of local wildlife.

“Please sign up to be a windowmaker!” added community engagement coordinator, Gill Bird. “You can use the windows of your home, vehicle, place of work or recreation. It doesn’t even have to be windows; you can also use your front door, the front of your house, or your front garden.

“Light up your window for the opening weekend of the festival from Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22. And you’re very welcome to keep your artwork lit up for longer too!
