FORRES folk will not have to walk 500 miles to see The Proclaimers next year – with the Scottish duo set to visit two locations in the north-east.

As part of a Scotland-wide tour, The Proclaimers will play at Inverness Leisure Centre on December 15, 2022, and the P+J Live Arena in Aberdeen on December 17, 2022.

The 11-date tour will come off the back of the duo's 12th studio album, which they are set to record early next year.

The Proclaimers' most recent album, Angry Cyclist, became their eighth UK top 40 album, debuting at number three in the UK Official Independent Album Charts.

Twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid emerged 31 years ago with their debut album This Is The Story and top three single Letter from America.

Since then, they have enjoyed huge success across the globe – with Gold and Platinum singles and albums in UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

They even inspired a musical, the play and film Sunshine on Leith. The movie was the fifth highest grossing Independent UK film of 2013.

Tickets for next December's shows go on sale on Friday, November 26, 2021.
