Extra 20mph speed limit signs are being installed in Alves to complement a part-time 20mph zone outside the village’s primary school.

Last year, Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, installed 20mph signs that activate outside Alves Primary School during school hours.

Work will now be undertaken to install further vehicle-activated speed signs on the local authority sideroads near the primary school.

The work will take place on weekdays only from Monday, July 22, to Friday, August 2, between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.

Works will be carried out under temporary traffic lights deployed on the A96, as well as on Station Road and Coltfield Road when required.

All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
