Elgin Sheriff Court appearance for teenager charged with attempted murder and abduction after Manbeen Place incident





A teenager has appeared in Elgin Sheriff Court today after being charged with attempted murder.

In addition, the 17-year-old was also charged with three accounts of abduction and two others of assault to injury.

The teenager, who appeared in private and cannot be named for legal reasons, made no plea and was released on bail.

A date for his next court appearance has not yet been set.

The charges relate to an incident on Monday morning when armed police went to a property at Manbeen Place in Elgin.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 11.50am on Monday, April 21, we were called to a report of concern for person at a property in the Manbeen Place area of Elgin.

"Emergency services attended, including specially trained officers, and two women, aged 39 and 33, were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.”
