FORRES Library is open – for click and collect orders.

The adjoining Forres House Community Centre is closed, but books are being collected from the outside door of the library without the need to enter the building.

Information services librarian, Joan Wood, confirmed customers can order at http://www.moray.gov.uk using borrower and PIN numbers to log into accounts or by phoning 01309 672834 for staff to find what is required.

She said: “Books are a great way of escaping lockdown so we are thrilled to be offering a borrowing service again.

“We are following all the recommended Covid guidelines to maintain the safety of all customers.

“We are anxious to r-open for browsing but this will be dependent on the latest guidelines.”

Staff are in the building from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, maintaining social distance, wearing masks and following cleaning protocols. Books are quarantined on return for 72 hours.

Ms Wood said: “When a customer’s books are available, staff phone with an appointment time.”
