A LOCAL tourist attraction celebrated a relative return to normal with its first outdoor performance of the year.
Logie Steading welcomed touring theatre company Illyria on the evening of Monday, July 13 to perform Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, returning on Sunday, July 18 to stage The Further Adventures of Dr Dolittle, and will return on August 19 with a performance of HMS Pinafore.
Outdoor theatre supplements Logie Steading’s events plan which includes art exhibitions, photographic and woodworking workshops.
Steading owner Panny Laing is thrilled to be back on track.
She said: “For over 15 years, Logie Steading has welcomed Illyria. It really feels as though we are starting to get some kind of normality back.”
Panny who curates the art exhibitions added: “Each month we celebrate a different artist – those exhibitions took a massive hit last year when we were forced to close. However, we have a superb line-up of artists planned for the rest of this year.”
Logie Steading also hosts monthly photography workshops run by Gary Murison and woodworking classes with Aaron Sterritt.
However, Logie Steading will not be running its popular Christmas market this year.
Panny said: “It encourages people to our busy market which we don’t feel is the right thing to do during the pandemic.”
