One of the north-east’s most-loved independent department stores and restaurants has opened a coffee and chocolate bar area to showcase its finest local produce.
Brodie Countryfare opened its brand-new bar area on July 19, meaning visitors can have a coffee and a sweet treat while, or after, shopping to takeaway or to enjoy with a seat at the bar.
On offer are a number of new food and drink options, including coffee from the Matthew Algie roastery and ice cream and milkshakes from Loch Ness Ice Cream.
This is in addition to their already popular range of chocolates, sweets and delicious vibrant-flavoured meringues. Customers can choose from a vast range of handmade Belgian chocolates and personalise their own chocolate box, or choose from a wide range of Scottish tablet. These hand-wrapped gifts are perfect for friends and family.
The newest addition to Brodie’s offering is fresh, local strawberries with melted Belgian chocolate, or why not add some Brodie bakery brownies and a range of toppings?
The Forres Gazette was lucky enough to head along on launch day and sample the milkshakes and chocolate covered strawberries and can confirm they are as tasty as suggested!
Marketing and communications manager Sarah Kinlin said: “We have always wanted to extend our takeaway offering in general but we also wanted to make it easier and quicker for our customers to access our takeaway options.
“So developing our Foodhall always made sense. We are excited to continue developing our coffee and chocolate bar with new and exciting delicious seasonal treats, so watch this space!”
