SNP double in Moray as party wins list vote in Holyrood election

THE SNP has won the list vote in Moray at this year's Scottish Parliamentary Election – adding to its constituency vote win yesterday.
Having received 19,987 votes in the constituency count, the SNP received 16,600 votes on the list.
This is an increase on the 13,809 the party received in 2016 – however the party's list vote share is down by 0.9 per cent.
This drop can likely be attributed to a rise in votes for the pro-independence Greens, as well as the emergence of Alex Salmond's Alba party.
The Conservatives, who received 16,823 constituency votes, also got the second most votes on the list with 15,890.
This is an increase on the 11,571 the Tories received in 2016, with the party's vote share also up by 3.9 per cent.
Labour were the third biggest party, with 3207 votes, the Greens got 2531 votes and the Liberal Democrats got 1133.
Alba received 538 votes, with George Galloway's unionist All for Unity party getting 238.
A total of 15 parties and two independent candidates stood on the list.
Remaining results: Andy Wightman (204), Scottish Family Party (191), Freedom Alliance (151), Abolish The Scottish Parliament (148), Reform UK (83), UKIP (77), Restore Scotland (67), Scottish Libertarian Party (42), Hazel Mansfield (33), Scottish Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (29).
The full Highlands and Islands list result will be available after all constituencies comprising the region have submitted their results.
It will then be known which seven 'list MSP's' will represent the region in Holyrood.
