THERE'S long-time rescue home resident desperate to find a field to call his own in our latest Pet of the Week feature.
Hoping it'll be 'neigh' bother to find his forever home is Smokey Joe, who has been in the care of the Scottish SPCA Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre for over 500 days.
From the moment he arrived at the centre it was clear that this lovely lad had not experienced much human interaction. After lots of hard work from the centre’s specialist staff, he has discovered that people might not be so bad after all. He still needs some time to build his confidence and learn how to be the perfect pony citizen.
Although wary, Smokey Joe is incredibly inquisitive and willing to learn. To ensure he continues his development his new owner will need to have experience with unhandled ponies.
Smokey Joe stands at around 12hh and is believed to be a Shetland cross. He currently lives with a small herd of geldings, and was previously part of a mixed herd which did not seem to be an issue. He enjoys company so his new home would preferably have a few pony pals.
If you can give Smokey Joe the home he has been waiting for, please apply via the Scottish SPCA website https://www.scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet/5994-smokey-joe-mull
