A CAMPAIGN for a local skating facility needs input from the community to continue.

The Forres Skate Park Initiative (FSPI) has launched an online survey in the hope that respondents will get involved with the committee or help run the campaign.

FSPI is still to formally constitute a campaign group, apply for charitable status and gain funding for a feasibility study to support further funding applications.

The study will further consult over materials required, opening times, landscaping options and more.

Community development worker, Vicky Flood, confirmed nine people have already expressed an interest in helping.

She said: "There has already been consultation over this project, however, it is still important for funding and covers Moray Council’s obligations regarding Community Asset Transfer leases.

"As the Bogton Road site next to Mosset Park was the second choice for a skate park in the Forres Planning for Real consultation, we have sent out letters to residents closest to it."

She added: "April's roller disco at Forres House Community Centre promoted the idea that the skate park is not going to be just for skateboards.

"It will be designed to incorporate roller boots, blades, skates, bikes scooters and boards. The park has to be inclusive and have everybody who wants to use it be involved in some way or other."

The questionnaire is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z2GGMLZ

Anyone interested in helping the campaign should email vicky@forresarea.org.
