MORAY residents who have been identified by Public Health Scotland as self-isolating are set to receive a text signposting them to support services.
The message will come from Moray Council and will have a reference unique to that resident – but the council has also urged vigilance against falling for any potential scam messages.
If residents need Covid advice or support, they will be asked to call the Grampian Coronavirus Assistance Hub on 0808 196 3384, and they will also be signposted to Scottish Government guidance which will advise if they are eligible for the self-isolation grant.
Moray Council’s principal trading standards officer, Muriel Allan, urged residents to be vigilant against potential scam messages.
She said: “You will receive texts from the Assistance Hub staff from phone number 07860026449, and it’ll say at the start of the message that it’s a Moray Council communication.
“We’ll never ask you to make a payment or for your bank details – please be vigilant and report any suspected spam messages to Trading Standards by calling 0300 123 4561.”
Almost 1000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Moray within the last two weeks – with the households of coronavirus cases now also being asked to self-isolate.
