Santa Claus is coming to town
HO HO HO Santa Claus is coming to Forres to make his annual visit to all the boys and girls in the town.
He will out on his sled starting next week for the lead up to Christmas, with volunteers from Forres Rotary Club who will be collecting for local charities.
The sled which has been prepared for winter by Carlo Miele and members of the Rotary Club’s Winter Activities Committee is coming to a street near you soon.
It will be out on the evenings of December 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 and and December, 19, 20 and 21 with December 22 the reserve night in case of bad weather.
Santa will be happy to speak to any child who wants to come and say hello. He will be visiting specific areas on the dates, as detailed below.
Mr Miele said that they will be delighted to welcome volunteers who are also needed to make sure that Santa gets to all the estates and roads around the town.
So if there are any adults who want to help out, then please go to your chosen rendezvous points just before 6pm.

SANTA’S ROUTE AND DETAILS FOR VOLUNTEERS
Monday (Dec 12) - Meet at Vic Car Park for Route1 around Pilmuir, Califer Rd, Councillor’s Walk and Meikle Crook. Santa will then go along Califer Rd to the junction before Drumine Road where he will stop for 10 mins at approx 7.30pm.
Tuesday (Dec 13) - Meet at Vic car park for Route 2 around Thornhill, Ferry Road, Knockomie West, Knockomie East and Ferryhill
Wednesday (Dec 14) Meet at Dicksons Car Park for Route 3 around Fleurs, Anderson Crescent, Macdonald Drive, Mannachie Road, Gardens, Grove, Grovita Gdns, Forres Heights, Mannachie Rise and Terrace and Allan Drive.
Thursday (Dec 15) Meet at the Car Park at Cumming Street for Route 4 around Orchard Road, Castle Street, Roysvale, Woodside Drive,Sanquhar Terrace and Sanquhar Road.
Friday (Dec 16) Meet at Police Station at 6p for Route 5 to Forbeshill, Drumduan Gardens, Moray Gardens, Croft Road, Doune Park and Springfield Court
Saturday (Dec 17) - The Santa Sleigh will be parked outside Boots the Chemist on the High Street between 10am and 3pm
Monday (Dec 19) - Meet at Easter Road or North Road Junction at 6pm for Route 6 to Kinloss Southside, Findhorn Village, Findhorn Foundation and back to the Spar Shop at Kinloss for 7.30/7.45 ish.
Tuesday (Dec 20) - Meet old Tesco Building for Route 7 to Bogton Road, North Road, Russell Place, Croft Rd, Doune Park
Wednesday (Dec 21) - Meet Garrows Garage for Route 8 to Alexandra Terrace, Nelson Road, St Leonards Road, St Leonards Drive, Adam Drive, Brewster Drive and St. Leonards Road.
Make sure you put the date nearest to you in your diary and come out and support Santa and help local Rotarians collect a pile of cash for charity.
