A TWO-year old child has died at a house in Forres.

Grampian Police confirmed that they had been called to a house in the Pilmuir area of Forres last week following the "sudden death" of an infant.

This follows reports to the ‘Gazette’ office by members of the public who had witnessed a large police presence outside a house in Califer Road.

A spokesperson said: "Grampian Police can confirm that we attended an address in Forres on February 14 following the sudden death of a two-year-old girl as a result of a medical condition."

The identity of the child has not been released but it is believed that she died on Thursday.
