FIREFIGHTERS are still at the scene of a major forest and gorse fire at Thomshill near Elgin.
They are dampening down an area of around 1km by 500 metres.
The alert was raised just after 2pm.
A spokeman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said that at 9.20pm there were still five appliances at the scene, plus a water carrier and a wild fire unit.
