Performer proves reaching for the stars can win dreams

A FORRES man has overcome lifelong mental and physical challenges to become a teacher of the art he loves.

Kenneth McCallum (36) from Mannachie Rise refused to let epilepsy, learning difficulties and Asperger syndrome stop him achieving his dreams, despite being told at secondary school that drama was beyond his capabilities.

The former Forres Academy student said: "It was the teachers' words that drove me to prove them wrong, which I did.

"I have reached my goal of getting my degree, proving that despite having difficulties, with the right help and support, anything is possible."
