The opening episode finished on a tense note when Tommy Shelby revealed to Michael Gray that he would be spending a little longer in prison than he had bargained for.

And even when he is released, he will have to conclude his $5 million drug deal with Tommy.

Of course, that final scene in Norfolk Prison in Boston was filmed at the historic old harbour in Portsoy.

As were many of the opening scenes in the episode which were set on the island of Miquelon, post-prohibition, as Tommy moves from dealing in illicit alcohol to dealing in illicit opium.

The final season of the hit drama has been long-awaited, and particularly in Moray and Aberdeenshire, with many of the extras involved in the filming at Portsoy, which took place in February 2021 during the pandemic, living locally.
