Jack and the Beanstalk panto tickets up for grabs for good causes
Charities are set to get the chance of a free seat at the panto in Aberdeen.
Jack and the Beanstalk is set to fill His Majesty’s Theatre with glittering festive cheer this Christmas, and in the spirit of the season, 300 tickets are being given away to local charities.
Aberdeen Performing Arts and the show’s producers, Crossroads Pantomimes, are inviting charities to apply for free tickets to the Christmas pantomime, which runs at His Majesty’s from Saturday, November 30 to Sunday, January 5.
Charities can apply using the application form on the Aberdeen Performing Arts website for tickets to the 7pm performance on Tuesday, December 3. The deadline for applications is Friday, November 8.
Those who are successful are promised a gigantic adventure as Jack and the Beanstalk brings laughs, music, special effects and more at His Majesty’s Theatre this festive season.
Aberdeen Performing Arts Chief Executive, Sharon Burgess said: “Panto can often be a first magical theatre experience, a much-loved family tradition or a chance to escape into a world of fun and magic.
“We want everyone to be able to enjoy this special time at His Majesty’s Theatre, and so we are once again extending an invite to charities to enable those who might not otherwise get to visit the theatre at Christmas to come along and enjoy Jack and the Beanstalk.”
Gary: Tank Commander will be entertaining the troops in the starring role, joining panto favourites Alan McHugh as Dame Trot, River City’s Paul J Corrigan as Pat the Cow, Aberdeen’s own Danielle Jam as The Spirit of the Beans and Julie Coombe as Mrs Blunderbore.
Local Aberdonian performers Michael Karl-Lewis and Jemma Ferries also return as Jack Trot and Princess Jill. The show is being staged by the same team that has produced the His Majesty’s Theatre panto for the last 20 years, with the usual abundance of comedy, lavish sets, fabulous costumes, and of course a few surprises in store.
Forms can be completed via the website at https://www.aberdeenperformingarts.com/news/news-charities-invited-to-see-jack-and-thebeanstalk/ or alternatively email hello@aberdeenperformingarts.com for more options. Successful charities will be told by Friday, November 15.
