NON-EMERGENCY repairs for Moray Council’s housing tenants will resume this week as Moray enters level three of coronavirus restrictions.

Level three allows for non-emergency repairs, as well as planned maintenance such as upgrades to homes.

Moray Council’s head of housing and property services Moray MacLeod is advising tenants there is a backlog due to the level four restrictions in place since December, which only permitted emergency repairs to go ahead.

He said: “This will cause some ongoing delays within our repairs service, but all repairs will be prioritised by the nature of the work required.

"Please bear with us while we work hard to catch up.”

All new non-emergency repairs can be reported from Monday, April 26, via the council’s contact centre on 0300 123 4566, during office hours (8.45am-5pm).

Peak call times are usually between 8.45am and 10am, so tenants are advised to call after this time to avoid any unnecessary wait time.

Health and safety of tenants, staff and contractors remains a priority; guidance for visiting tenants’ homes for repairs and maintenance is available on Moray Council’s website.
