THE search is on to find an outstanding young person in Forres.

Every year the Forres Community Activities Association presents a shield to an individual, aged 18 or under, who has done something remarkable for the town.

Normally, the shield would be presented at the annual youth concert in the town hall but due to Covid that could not take place and, instead, contributions from local individuals and groups are being sought for a video highlighting some of the talented and hard working individuals in Forres and the surrounding areas.

Ewen Watson, who organises the concert, hopes to get nominations in for the award before schools break up for the summer.

Forres Pipe Band, local primary schools and Brownies are among those to have said they will film a short submission for the video, and other contributors would be welcome.

“It can be any kind of activity, to show the talents of young people,” said Ewen.

“We managed to hold the concert last year just before the start of lockdown.”

Nominations for the award and video submissions can be emailed to forresyouthconcert@gmail.com
