No new cases of coronavirus in Moray for third day running

NO new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Moray overnight for the third day running.

The most recent case in the area was confirmed on Monday, with the total number since the outbreak began remaining 77.

NHS Grampian confirmed three new cases of the virus overnight, two in Aberdeenshire and one in Aberdeen City. The health board has now confirmed 1259 cases.

Aberdeenshire has 426 positive cases, with Aberdeen City having 743. Highland council has 195 confirmed cases.

At midnight, there were 65 people in NHS Grampian hospitals in relation to coronavirus, with less than five in intensive care.

Across Scotland, the number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus and died within 28 days is now 2316. That is an increase of 12 deaths overnight.

A total of 109,031 people have been tested for the virus in Scotland, with 93,743 negative and 15,288 positive.

The number of patients discharged from hospital is 3635. That is an increase of 24 overnight.

Yesterday's weekly update showed one new death in Moray between May 18 and May 24, taking the area's total to 14 since the outbreak began. Across Grampian, 231 people have died. Death totals include all where covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
