New site offers real help to MS sufferers
A Forres man who has Multiple Sclerosis (MS) has created a website which he hopes will give real help to people around Moray living with the chronic condition.
The new www.MSMoray.net site is packed with information and sources of support to help people live the best possible life with this, as -yet, incurable disease.
Deescribed as "by people with MS for people with MS" the site was the brainchild of Forres man, Alan Beevers, who was diagnosed with Progressive MS eight years ago and found help and information hard to get.
Mr Beevers has been wroking on the site for the past year, but said that it was just in the last few months that it has all come together.
"When I was first diagnosed," said Alan, "I struggled to get information about help and support."
He said that it took almost two years for him to get an appointment with a specialist MS nurse, and even then, he had to go to Inverness.
"At times, I felt stranded," said Alan, "So I set about finding out things for myself."
Mr Beevers said the website was the result of his work. Full story in this week's Gazette.
