THE Scottish Snowdrop Festival returns for 2022 in some of the finest gardens in Moray, Aberdeenshire and the Highlands.
Visitors have been invited along to enjoy special plots and collections of snowdrops across the region from January 25 until March 11.
Garden enthusiasts in Moray can visit 10 Pilmuir Road in Forres which is showcasing 150 named varieties of the special winter bloom. It will be open on arrangement throughout the festival.
There will be more rare snowdrops to discover at Bruckhills Croft in Rothienorman in Aberdeenshire where the owners cultivate a National Collection of specialist snowdrops.
Visitors can also enjoy the sight of snowdrops growing across the country-style garden at Laundry Cottage on the banks of the River Bogie.
The festival is organised by Discover Scottish Gardens, whose members open their gardens for charity.
Dougal Philip, Director of Discover Scottish Gardens, said: "From very humble beginnings this festival has grown to become a much-cherished celebration of the beauty of our gardens at that moment when winter starts to give way to spring. It's a chance to get outdoors, take some exercise and appreciate the beauty that nature brings our way."
Liz Stewart, Director of Scotland's Gardens Scheme, added: "Our members range from large estates to small private gardens so the festival offers the chance to be wowed by snowdrops growing in large numbers or enchanted by close-ups of the blooms in intimate settings."
