Santa needs help from Mrs Claus ... and some elves!

CHRISTMAS fair organisers are looking for a Mrs Clause and Santa's Elves to help create some festive cheer.

Dyke Preschool is hosting the event in the village hall on Saturday, November 30 from noon to 3pm - Father Christmas has already confirmed he will be there but he still requires a few volunteers to help set up, handle the entry area, help with teas and more.

said: "We have a wonderful Santa and stalls booked with locally made crafts and gift ideas. There will be a raffle and a Christmas Craft area in the Preschool Centre in the village hall complex. There will be child-height tables and chairs, and crafts with natural materials, card, glitter etc. Attending children will be supported in their chosen crafts and will be able to take their creations home."

She added: "Any help would be much appreciated. It will be good fun to work with some wonderful people. Would a Mrs Clause and some Elves like to join Santa at our Christmas Grotto?"

The Santa's Grotto will be sensory-friendly and for all children including those with additional support needs.

Raffle prizes will include whisky, gin, pottery, art, vouchers for local businesses and experiences. Stall holders will include aromatherapy, home made food and community group businesses, each of whom will also donate raffle prizes.

Crafts that have been made by the children will be on sale, there will be a bottle stall and a magic squares contest with a prize of an evening babysitting by the Preschool Centre manger.

Entry is £5 per child, £3 per adult and includes a visit to Santa, crafts, tea, coffee and refreshments. Volunteers should be there by 11.30am.

Contact 01309 641285 to volunteer or for more information.
