Covid-19 jab now given to more than half of Moray's adults

MORE than half of Moray's adult population has now received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
A first jab has been given to 51.2 per cent of the area's adults (40,756 people), with 7.1 per cent (5666 people) now fully vaccinated.
In the last week, 5020 first dose jabs have been administered in Moray, an increase on the 4181 given the week prior, while 2483 second dose jabs were given, up on the 940 last week.
Moray's figures are ahead of the Scottish average, with 49.5 per cent of adults (2,250,000 people) across the country having received their first jab and 5.5 per cent (249,252 people) having received both.
NHS Grampian, which encompasses Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City, is slightly behind the national average on first doses administered, with 45.8 per cent of the adult population (222,357 people) having been given a first jab.
However, six per cent of the health board's adult population (29,340 people) are fully vaccinated.
