Moray Council's 10-year development vision signed off
MORAY Council’s blueprint for housing, commercial and infrastructure development for the next decade has been approved.
Members of the council’s Emergency Cabinet signed off the final version of the Local Development Plan at a special meeting this week.
The Local Development Plan sets out parameters and guidance for developers and planners, self-builders and businesses.
Chairman of Moray Council’s Planning and Infrastructure Committee, Councillor David Bremner, said: "The Local Development Plan 2020 forms the strategy and vision for planning, development and economic growth throughout Moray up until 2030 and beyond, and I’m delighted that it has now been adopted.
"It shouldn’t be underestimated the enormous amount of work that each Local Development Plan takes, and I’d like to congratulate the work and dedication of all staff who’ve contributed and guided this to fruition, as well as everybody – members of the public, public and private sector organisations – who contributed throughout the extensive consultation process."
The plan provides guidance to residents, developers and investors as to how much and where growth is proposed for land uses, such as housing and employment, and sets out a wide range of policies which are used to determine planning applications.
