Moray parents ‘delighted’ after welcoming baby boy on Christmas Day at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin

It was an extra special Christmas for one Moray couple who welcomed a baby boy into the world at Dr Gray’s Hospital yesterday.

Hudson McGregor was the first baby to be born at the Elgin hospital on Christmas Day since 2020 after he arrived shortly before 2pm.

He was expected to arrive on Christmas Day but his delighted parents Sharon and Paul McGregor admit they were still surprised when he did.

Paul said: “He was actually expected to arrive on the day but we really didn’t think he would be born on his due date.

“I don’t think anyone really expects that.

“But Sharon started feeling pains at around 2am so we went through to the hospital and he was born at 1.40pm.

“We’re a bit tired but we’re delighted, absolutely over the moon really.

“He’s tired as well but doing really well.”

The family returned home to Dyke with Hudson at around 7pm yesterday and he has since met his four brothers.
