The internationally recognised day on April 28 is a time to remember those who have lost their lives at work, or from work-related injury and diseases. The theme for this year's IWMD is to ‘make safe and healthy work a fundamental right’.

Chief Executive of Moray Council, Roddy Burns said: “Today, countries across the world come together to remember those who have died and suffered injury and illness as a result of their work.

“As well as remembering those who have lost their lives through work it’s important to recognise the continued efforts of our workforce who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to keep local residents safe and vital services running.”
