PREPARATIONS are under way to reopen Moray's council libraries and museums as the lockdown eases further.
Phase 3 of the lockdown routemap, announced by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon recently, gave facilities such as libraries and museums the green light to reopen from July 15, subject to a number of measures, inlcuding social distancing, being put in place.
Moray libraries staff are currently working through the requirements to re-open services safely for staff and customers.
Once these have been put in place, dates for re-opening will be announced. The libraries are likely to re-open in stages and it will be some time before all services are available.
Acting Principal Librarian, Rona Stephen, said: “We are really missing face- to-face contact with our lovely customers and are so looking forward to seeing everyone again.
“In the meantime we hope people enjoy using the services that we have available online.
"We are delighted that so many folk are enjoying using the eBooks, eAudiobooks and eComics; attending our online Bookbug sessions; attending online learning sessions with our Essential Skills and Learning Centre staff and chatting to us on Facebook and Twitter.”
