Moray launches 'AskSARA': New website gives residents personal guide to independent living
Moray residents are being invited to try out a new website which gives personalised advice on home equipment and modifications that help people to continue living independently.
The free website, known as AskSARA, is being launched at Elgin Community Centre on the last Wednesday of this month. Its aim is to help people overcome daily challenges, whether they’re recovering from illness, managing a long-term condition or adjusting to changes in their lives.
A spokesperson behind the website’s launch said: “This new tool will recommend the right equipment or adaptations to improve safety, reduce falls and maximize independence, with impartial information on private purchase options."
Anyone seeking help with specific issues, such as bathing or getting in and out of their homes, may find it helpful to bring along photos on the day of their bath or steps.
Users who test AskSARA will receive a tailored report complete with a list of helpful products and services.
If necessary, a direct referral to the Moray occupational therapy team can also be organised.
The event is part of a wider £5million investment through the Moray Growth Deal.
♦ It will take place from 10am-3.30pm on Wednesday, October 29, at Elgin Community Centre which overlooks the same carpark as the town hall.
Book a test with AskSARA HERE or by going to to the dhi-scotland.com website and typing ‘Moray Hub digital health’ in the search boxes. Several time slots are currently still available.
Also featured will be stalls staffed by several local organisations:

Quarriers – Offering support for unpaid carers
Moray Wellbeing Hub – Showcasing the Community Connections, a directory of local and online resources
Health Point – Providing confidential health advice
