Moray businessman Calum Main sentenced for sexual assault in Aberdeen bar
A Moray businessman has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a man in a bar.
Calum Main, who operated Calum’s Kitchen in Alves before running a café at Moray Sports Centre and a catering van, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday (October 21).
The 42-year-old was handed supervision and added to the sex offenders register over the offences, which took place in Aberdeen.
Main was found guilty of sexual assaulting a man at Cheerz Bar on September 16, 2024, at a trial which took place on August 25.
Court documents confirmed that Main, of Park Street, Hopeman, repeatedly kissed the man’s mouth and neck and “fondled his genitals”, doing so “without his consent”.
Charges also stated that he repeatedly tried to kiss the victim on the cheek, touched his body, hugged him and bit him on the ear.
Main also repeatedly presented his cheek to the man and encouraged him to kiss it, the court papers said.
Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane sentenced Main to a six-month community payback order, mandating social work supervision and a sex offenders rehabilitation programme.
He was also made subject to Sex Offenders Act notification requirements for the same period of time.
