Moray & Banffshire Heroes 2025: Nominate your secondary pupils

Do you know outstanding pupils at your secondary school who excel in their studies or sport, or donate their spare time and efforts to extra-curricular activities too?

Then show them just how proud you are with a nomination for the Moray & Banffshire Heroes 2025 secondary pupil of the year award.

NOMINATE your Moray & Banffshire Heroes by midnight, Sunday February 2, 2025.

The award for secondary school pupil of the year will go to a student who has overcome exceptional circumstances or obstacles to achieve success in education, sport or helping others at school.

UHI Moray is sponsoring the award for secondary pupil of the year.

Head of Academic Partnerships at UHI Moray, Jackie Andrews, said: “It is a pleasure for UHI Moray as a tertiary institution to support young people through our Senior Phase programme to prepare for their future, whether that is college, training, work or university. Our Senior Phase programme offers a wide range of subjects ranging from SCQF 4-7 which are available to all young people from S4 to S6 and we are delighted to welcome pupils to benefit from the skills and knowledge of our lecturers and assessors.

“Having the opportunity to study in a different location, to study different subjects, or to enhance future job opportunities through a Foundation Apprenticeship whilst still benefitting from being in school, has proven so beneficial for so many young people. We are very grateful to our local schools for working in partnership and for our local employers for providing placement opportunities needed to support many of these qualifications.

“For these reasons we are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the secondary pupil category in the Moray & Banffshire Heroes award and would like to wish all nominees the best of luck.”

Once all of your nominations have been submitted, our judges will whittle down your entries to create a shortlist and you will be invited to vote for your finalists.

The winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony at the Banff Springs Hotel on Friday, April 25, 2025.
